Original release (June 17, 2016  3:43 p.m.):

A woman recently called the Precinct 12 station after finding her sons playing kickball with police officers.

A woman told police that on the evening of June 14, she left her home (7700 block of Wynbrook Road 21224) to find her sons and to get them to come home for the evening. At first she was not happy because she could not find them, but then she saw something that surprised her. Her two sons were playing kickball with Officer Minton and Officer Sibiski from the Dundalk Precinct. The kids in her neighborhood don’t really like police because they only see them when something bad has happened. She noticed the positive impact this interaction had on her sons.

Someone took a picture of the kickball game that was sent to police.

The Baltimore County Police Department appreciates the positive feedback. Officers continue to work to build positive relationships with all members of our communities.

Original release (July 5, 2016  5:14 p.m.):

Officers at the Wilkens precinct are investigating extensive vandalism that occurred last week at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue.

Police are investigating this as a possible bias related crime because of information provided by the pastor that she believes the church has been victimized before because of its open acceptance of gays and lesbians. The church flies a gay unity flag on its doorstep. Police responded to a previous incident involving theft of this unity flag.

Police found smashed windows, file cabinets opened and furniture and other items broken and strewn about. A fire extinguisher had been used to spray throughout the church, damaging many items including church pew cushions.

In the music room, various inflammatory phrases were written on a dry erase board. These included, "666," "Hail Satan," WTF is Jezus?" and "Death 2 All."

Police believe the crime occurred some time between 7:30 p.m. on June 29 and 9:40 a.m. on June 30.

This is an open investigation. There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information about this crime should call BCoPD at 410-307-2020.
